Crisis Response Plan (CPR)
9:30 - 3:00

Crisis Response Planning is a strategy designed to assist an individual who might be at risk for suicide by offering alternative self-selected actions and activities they can use in times of crisis. Peers, friends, family and clinical providers can support the planning process and provide solid options which they can utilize during different phases of a suicidal crisis.
This workshop is designed to enhance individuals’ knowledge about crisis response planning (CRP) for managing acute suicide risk, and to increase their ability to administer this intervention confidently and competently with at-risk individuals.

CALM: Conversations on Access to Lethal Means
11:00 - 1:00
IN PERSON | HYBRID
Curicuulum has been modified by the Texas Suicide Prevention Council to provide information on access to lethal means to include a more "conversational" method for members of the community at large.
Military Veteran Peer Network provides instruction for both clinical and non-clinical participants.
Reducing access to lethal means, such as firearms and medication, can determine whether a person at risk for suicide lives or dies. This course focuses on how to reduce access to the methods people use to kill themselves. It covers how to: (1) identify people who could benefit from lethal means counseling, (2) ask about their access to lethal methods, and (3) work with them—and their families—to reduce access.
